Stroke Council Distinguished Achievement Award


The Stroke Council Distinguished Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the affairs of the Stroke Council over a continuing period, and who have made substantial professional contributions to the field represented by the council. The latter could be:

  • Contributions to new knowledge in the field
  • Contributions to teaching and/or clinical care in the field
  • Professional leadership in national or international organizations

The Stroke Distinguished Achievement Award may be presented every three years at the American Heart Association's International Stroke Conference.

Suggested nominees for the Distinguished Achievement Award may be submitted to the Stroke Leadership Committee by email. Current members of the Stroke Leadership Committee and the Stroke Nominating Committee are not eligible to apply for or be nominated for the award.

Prize

The award will be presented at the International Stroke Conference.

The honoree will also receive:

  • Complimentary registration to the International Stroke Conference
  • An engraved plaque
  • Reimbursement for eligible travel expenses up to $1,000
