Published: March 14, 2024

- Valvular heart disease encompasses a large spectrum of diseases with variable pathophysiology, valve hemodynamics, clinical presentation, impact on cardiac structure and function, and outcomes.
- To increase the clinical dissemination of the most recent valvular heart disease clinical practice guidelines and to enhance the implementation of the evidence-based recommendations, the AHA/ACC Joint Committee on Performance Measures convened a writing committee to develop performance and quality measures for valvular heart disease and structural heart disease.
- The ACC/AHA Valvular Heart Disease Measure Set can be used to assess, measure, and compare care processes for patients with valvular heart disease across multiple providers and institutions.
