Alejandro de la Cova is a third-year medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is heavily involved with working the Latino community in Columbus, Ohio.

With deep Cuban roots in South Florida, Alejandro has always been surrounded by diversity and rich culture in Miami, Florida. During his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, he pursued a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Classical Studies, where he took Latin and grew to love languages. He served as a tutor at the Language lab for students in Spanish courses.

In medical school, Alejandro is an active volunteer with both La Clinica Latina, Columbus’s Spanish Free Clinic, as well as his university’s chapter of the Latino Medical Student Association, where he served as Vice President for the 2022–2023 academic year. He currently serves as the Fundraising and Scholarship Chair for the Latino Medical Student Association Midwest board and is a class representative for his medical school student council.

Alejandro aspires to tackle challenges faced by the Latino community around him, especially those that involve language barriers.
