Program Chair Kathleen Martin, PhD, FAHA and Vice Chair Peter Henke, MD, FAHA welcome attendees to Vascular Discovery 2024 in Chicago and highlight some of the topics and events they have planned for the meeting this year.

Program Chair Kathleen Martin, PhD, FAHA interviews Kenneth Walsh, PhD, FAHA about his groundbreaking work on clonal hematopoiesis and aging which he presented during a session on Hot Topics in Cardiovascular Disease during Vascular Discovery 2024.

Katey Rayner, PhD, FAHA, immediate past chair for Vascular Discovery, interviews Minna Kaikkonen-Määttä, PhD about her talk on the potential of functional multiomics to improve our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease, which she presented in the opening plenary session for Vascular Discovery 2024.

Program Chair Kathleen Martin, PhD, FAHA interviews guest lecturer Takanori Takebe, MD, PhD about his talk, "Complementing Human Organoids for Vascular Discovery," which he presented in an opening plenary session on Hot Topics in Cardiovascular Disease during Vascular Discovery 2024.

Hanrui Zhang, MD, PhD, Technical Editor of the ATVB journal, interviews Louise Iruela-Arispe, MD, PhD, a guest speaker for a session on Highlights from the ATVB Journal during Vascular Discovery 2024,  about her 30-year career investigating the regulation of blood vessel formation and her insights on mentoring relationships.

Program Vice Chair Peter Henke, MD, FAHA interviews Zoltan Arany, MD, PhD about his recent work investigating the influence of fat metabolism in the endothelium on high blood pressure and cardiometabolic health, which he presented during a session on Advances in Cardiometabolic Disease.

Philip S. Tsao, PhD, chair of the council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, interviews the 2024 Hoeg Award Lecturer Chiara Giannarelli, MD, PhD about her work understanding the COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 infection contributes to atherosclerosis and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
