Benefit Booster: We Make it Easy to Attend Meetings
Did you know that as a professional member, we make it easier for you to attend meetings? At the AHA, we know that meetings matter, and the late-breaking science presented can impact many on an individual level. That’s why, in addition to the numerous awards and lectures offered to highlight the work that goes into advancing science, we also offer travel grants. These grants help defray travel costs for early career investigators, clinicians, and students to participate in Scientific Sessions and specialty meetings.
Benefit Booster: We Can Help Further Your Research
Professional Members have access to many research opportunities. Funding research is a cornerstone of the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission. Since 1949, the AHA has invested $5.9 billion in scientific research, leading to breakthroughs in cardiovascular and stroke discovery, translation, and clinical application through more than 50,850 funded projects. Civic Engagement Matters

In the Spring 2024 Policy Report (PDF), the American Heart Association published a statement on Civic Engagement and Population Health. The association, in a non-partisan way, encourages and supports civic engagement as a tool to increase civic responsibility and build social connections, which can reduce cardiovascular disease risk, enhance community resilience, and improve inequities.
The Association strives to use civic engagement to transform the environments in which people live to promote health, support robust scientific research, improve medical treatment, and create access to quality health care.
