- This CoSTR Summary is the 7th annual publication from ILCOR summarizing the work of its six task forces.
- The 2023 CoSTR Summary includes work from the 6 ILCOR task forces, and this year’s review encompasses 90 topics reviewed in some capacity, including 25 systematic reviews. Although only systematic reviews can generate a full consensus of science with new treatment recommendations, many other topics were evaluated with more streamlined processes to confirm that prior recommendations remain current.
- Topics addressed by systematic reviews this year include resuscitation of cardiac arrest from drowning, extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults and children, calcium during cardiac arrest, double sequential defibrillation, neuroprognostication after cardiac arrest for adults and children, maintaining normal temperature after preterm birth, heart rate monitoring methods for diagnostics in neonates, detection of exhaled carbon dioxide in neonates, family presence during resuscitation of adults, and a step-wise approach to resuscitation skills training
