Scientific Sessions 2026
The American Heart Association Scientific Council Awards applaud the achievements of researchers, scientists, clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, and provide opportunities for financial rewards, special presentations, and funding to attend Scientific Sessions and other council-sponsored meetings. Hundreds of awards are offered each year to meet our members where they are in their career.

To qualify for Scientific Sessions 2026 awards you must meet the following deadlines:
Abstract Awards Deadlines:
- June 8, 2026, 6:00 p.m. CDT (-5 UTC) – EXTENDED Deadline to submit an abstract to Scientific Sessions 2026
- June 8, 2026 – Deadline to have an active American Heart Association Professional Membership
- June 10, 2026, 6 p.m. CDT (-5 UTC) – Deadline to apply for abstract awards in the Council Awards System
Non-Abstract Awards Deadlines:
- June 8, 2026 – Deadline to have an active American Heart Association Professional Membership
- June 10, 2026, 6 p.m. CDT (-5 UTC) – Deadline to apply for abstract awards in the Council Awards System

Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award
Abstracts submitted to the 2026 Scientific Sessions may be considered for a Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award. This award recognizes authors that contributed to the highest ranked accepted abstract from each country. You don't have to apply, and professional membership is not required.
