Stroke in Young Adults

Stroke is excited to announce its next Tweet Chat will be held Monday, March 12, on stroke in young adults.

Please join Stroke Social Media Editor Dr. Waleed Brinjikji and Dr. Lester Y. Leung for a stimulating discussion that will cover a wide range of topics, including epidemiology, diagnostic work-up, imaging, and treatment of stroke in the young. This Tweet Chat will be of interest to neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and neuroepidemiologists who are involved in the care of stroke in young adults.

Moderators

Dr. Waleed Brinjikji, MD, (@WBrinjikji) is a diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologist currently completing a second year of interventional training at Toronto Western Hospital. He completed his diagnostic radiology and diagnostic neuroradiology training at the Mayo Clinic. His primary interests are in stroke intervention and imaging.
 
Dr. Lester Y. Leung, MD, MSc, (@LesterLeung) is the director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Tufts Medical Center and the founder and director of the Stroke and Young Adults (SAYA) program at Tufts, the first longitudinal care program for young adults with stroke in the U.S. He conducts health services research related to young adult stroke, focusing on areas of improvement for facilitation of acute care and improvements in post-acute care, especially identifying late complications of stroke. He is also involved in patient advocacy for young adults with stroke.
