About the Cover

ATVB_cover_June 2019.jpgBlood streamlines circulating a common iliac artery aneurysm. The abdominal aorta is also seen to deflect towards the aneurysmal side, a common observation in this study.

Editor's Note:
This article reports that angiotensin II and anti TGF-beta clonal expansion and phenotypic switching of aortic smooth muscle cells as demonstrated by multicolor lineage tracing of vascular smooth muscle cells. Loss of autophagy in vascular smooth muscle cells augments aortic pathologies.
