About the Cover

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) development involves extensive inflammatory cell infiltration and matrix remodelling. IL33 is a pleiotropic cytokine that is expressed in the adventitia fibroblasts. IL33 reduces AAA growth by promoting the expansion of regulatory T cells that suppresses smooth muscle cell and macrophage activation and promotes M2 macrophage polarization.

Ambient Air Pollution Is Associated With HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) Dysfunction in Healthy Adults

Editor's Note

This article reports that in the prospective follow-up Beijing AIRCHD (Air Pollution and Cardiovascular Dysfunction in Healthy Adults) Study, higher ambient air pollution concentrations are associated with impairments in HDL (high-density lipoprotein) functionality, systemic inflammation and oxidative stress.
