Mid-Career Achievement Awards

These awards recognize mid-career investigators active in basic, clinical, translational or population cardiovascular research for career endeavors and achievements who have made a significant impact on cardiovascular disease and stroke, and those who helped further the mission of the Scientific Councils and the AHA/ASA. Candidates include PhDs and or MDs who are still within 5-20 years after their first faculty appointment as of the award application date.

Mid-Career Achievement Awards must also comply with the rules and guidelines developed by the Committee on Scientific Sessions Program if held in conjunction with the Scientific Sessions or Specialty Meetings.

Applicants must submit their abstract for Scientific Sessions by the abstract submission deadline to be eligible for abstract related awards. Abstract results and presentations are prohibited from release until AHA embargo date and time (5 a.m. ET/4 a.m. CT, Monday, November 9, 2020). You will be contacted by AHA communications if you are selected to participate in an AHA news event.

  • Mid-Career Achievement Awards applicants must be partners of the AHA Council sponsoring the award. If you need to become an AHA Professional Partner, you should do so no later than May 30 for your partner account to be processed in time for the application submission deadline.
