David Kritchevsky Lectureship

The David Kritchevsky Memorial Lectureship was established in 2007 to honor the life and scientific contributions of Dr. David Kritchevsky, a world-renowned biochemist whose research transformed understanding of nutrition, cholesterol metabolism, and atherosclerosis. Dr. Kritchevsky was among the earliest investigators to study the relationship between cholesterol and cardiovascular risk and helped establish many of the foundational concepts linking diet and cardiovascular disease. His work also advanced understanding of the differential effects of animal-and plant-based proteins on atherosclerosis and contributed significantly to the fields of lipid metabolism and preventive cardiology.

Presented annually at the American Heart Association's EPI|Lifestyle Scientific Sessions, the lectureship recognizes a distinguished investigator whose body of work has advanced nutrition, lifestyle, metabolism, cardiovascular prevention, or population health research. The lecture provides attendees with insights from internationally recognized leaders whose research continues to shape public health and cardiovascular disease prevention.

Through this lectureship, the American Heart Association honors Dr. Kritchevsky's enduring commitment to scientific excellence and celebrates research that advances cardiovascular health worldwide.
