Deadlines for 2018

MOC Credit must be claimed by December 15, 2018. MOC credit will no longer be able to be claimed after that date.

AMA Credit must be claimed within 6 months of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim after May 12, 2019.

ANCC Credit must be claimed within 6 months of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim after May 12, 2019.

ACPE credit must be claimed within 30 days of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim after December 11, 2018.

Instructions for Claiming CME/CE Credits

  1. Go to AHA's Lifelong Learning Center.
     
  2. Click Activities in Progress.
     
  3. Enter your Username and Password and Sign In.
    If you do not remember your Username or Password, click the "Forgot Password" link. If you are not a registered user, click "Create an Account" to enter your account information and create your new Username and Password.
     
  4. Select the appropriate Resuscitation, Scientific Sessions 2018, or Sessions ACPE activity.
     
  5. Review the Activity Overview tab, scroll to the bottom, and click Continue.
     
  6. On the Activity Material tab, scroll to the bottom and click Continue. Pharmacists will select the specific sessions they attended.
     
  7. Click the Launch button to complete an evaluation of the course. This step is required to claim credit. Once complete, click Continue.
     
  8. Click the Claim button for the appropriate accreditation credit type. You may qualify for more than one credit type based on your user profile. ACCME, ANCC, and CAPCE allow claiming of variable credit. You will be given the option to claim all or part of the activity credit if applicable to your user profile.
     
  9. Click Continue and select the certificate link to view and print.
     
  10. Click Close. The activity is stored under Completed Activities.

Joint Accreditation Statements for 2018

AMA Credit Designation Statement - Physicians
The American Heart Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 27.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

MOC Statement
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 27.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 14 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

**MOC Credit must be claimed by December 15, 2018. MOC credit will no longer be able to be claimed after that date.

AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement – Physician Assistants
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 27.75 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.

AANP Credit Acceptance Statement – Nurse Practitioners
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

**AMA Credit must be claimed within 6 months of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim after May 12, 2019.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement - Nurses
The maximum number of hours awarded for this CE activity is 27.75 contact hours.

ACPE Credit Designation Statement – Pharmacists

Continuing Education Accreditation – Emergency Medical Services
This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association, an organization accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), for 27.75 Advanced CEHs, activity number 18-AMHA-F1-0038.

By claiming CAPCE credit, the claimant acknowledges the following: I understand that the American Heart Association as a requirement of CAPCE accreditation will submit a record of my course completions to the CAPCE AMS. I further understand that my course completion records may be accessed by or shared with such regulators as state EMS offices, training officers, and NREMT on a password-protected, need-to-know basis. In addition, I understand that I may review my record of CAPCE-accredited course completions by contacting CAPCE.

**CAPCE credit must be claimed within 6 months of attendance. CME/CE credit will no longer be available to claim after May 12, 2019.

All persons who develop and/or control educational content in CME/CE activities provided by the American Heart Association will disclose to the audience all financial relationships with any commercial supporters of this activity as well as with other commercial interests whose lines of business are related to the CME/CE-certified content of this activity. In addition, presenters will disclose unlabeled/unapproved uses of drugs or devices discussed in their presentations. Such disclosures will be made in writing in course presentation materials.

MOC Information

Scientific Sessions 2018 also provided MOC points for diplomats of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and diplomats of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).


ABIM Diplomates may earn up to 27.75 MOC points for Scientific Sessions 2018 participation. ABIM CME MOC Accredited

  1. Physicians must complete the AMA PRA Category I credit claim process by December 15, 2018.

    During the Claim Process you will:
    1. Indicate that you wish to also claim ABIM MOC points.
    2. Give permission for CME provider to share your participation data to ABIM via ACCME’s data portal.
    3. Provide your ABIM#.
       
  2. A post-test will be sent those physicians who indicated they wanted to also claim ABIM MOC if they completed the CME claim process by December 15, 2018
     
  3. Successfully pass the post-test no later than December 20, 2018
     

ABP Diplomates may earn 14 MOC points for Scientific Sessions 2018 participation.Part 2 MOC - The American Board of Pediatrics
