Health Equity Research Networks

Advancing Health Equity

through research

In 2021, the American Heart Association pledged over $230 million in funding to support initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers to equity in healthcare. With this goal came the inception of the Health Equity Research Networks (HERN). Each network connects academic institutions and community organizations to address adverse social determinants of health and advance care for impacted communities.
