This joint American Heart Association - Japanese Circulation Society session will provide a concise translational overview of HCM, spanning from genetic mechanisms and transcriptomic subtyping to phenotype-specific insights and clinical risk stratification for sudden cardiac death. The session will conclude with recent breakthroughs in pharmacologic management, including cardiac myosin inhibitors, and their integration into clinical practice. This special session focuses on an in-depth dialogue between the non-surgical management of acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) and resistant hypertension (RH). As a dangerous "causal pair" in the cardiovascular field, resistant hypertension is the most important upstream cause of aortic dissection, while the non-surgical management of acute type A aortic dissection represents the core interventional strategy for this acute and critical condition.
