Chicago, Illinois

Overview
The American Heart Association convened the ARIA Summit: Cardiovascular and Stroke Considerations for β-Amyloid Immunotherapy in Alzheimer Disease on July 16, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois.
This one-day, invite only, in-person event brought together over 75 experts from diverse fields – including neurology, emergency medicine, cardiology, nursing, risk communications, ethics, and more – to share insights on ARIA and explore considerations for issues related to the use of amyloid plaque lowering monoclonal antibodies and their side effects.
The Summit included plenary sessions on ARIA and considerations for improving systems of care, followed by breakout workshops where work groups will develop considerations for key issues related to the use of β-amyloid immunotherapy. Insights from the Summit will inform the development of an ARIA Summit Special Report, which will be made available here.
