Louise Pilote, MD, MPH, PhD, is a professor of medicine at McGill University, where she holds the Distinguished James McGill Chair. She is a practicing general internist, clinical epidemiologist and deputy director and deputy scientific officer at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

An internationally recognized leader in sex and gender science, Pilote has an advanced understanding of the role of sex and gender in cardiovascular health through pioneering research in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials and big data. Her work has transformed approaches to measuring gender in health research and informed more personalized, equitable care for women’s cardiovascular disease.
