2026 ARIA Summit
May 11–12, 2026
Valkenburg, the Netherlands

Overview
The American Heart Association will convene the second ARIA Summit: Cardiovascular and Stroke Considerations for β-Amyloid Immunotherapy in Alzheimer Disease on May 11–12 in Valkenburg, The Netherlands.
This two-day, invite only, in-person event will bring together 75 experts from diverse fields – including neurology, emergency medicine, cardiology, nursing, neuroradiology, and more – to address clinical issues posed by new anti-amyloid therapies and consider directions for the future with tailored guidance for Europe.
This event follows a similar ARIA Summit that the Association held in Chicago, Illinois in July 2025, which resulted in the development of key considerations for caring for patients with Alzheimer’s Disease who are at risk for cerebrovascular disease and ARIA. The objective of the European Summit is to address clinical issues posed by the new anti-amyloid therapies and consider directions for the future with tailored guidance for Europe.
The Summit will include plenary sessions on ARIA and considerations for improving systems of care, followed by breakout workshops where work groups will develop considerations for key issues related to the use of β-amyloid immunotherapy. Insights from the Summit will inform the development of an ARIA Summit Special Report, which will be made available here.
Summit Goals
- Share the latest research, challenges, and insights on ARIA.
- Identify clinical and systems of care considerations for implementing β-amyloid therapies in patients with cardiovascular or stroke risk.
