Intussusceptive Vascular Remodeling Precedes Pathological Neovascularization

The zebrafish choriocapillaris provides new opportunities to study pathological phenotypes in high-density vasculatures. In this issue, Ali et al use this model to delineate a previously unknown role of intussusception preceding pathological neovascularization. The image shows the choriocapillaris of Tg(pdgfrb:EGFP;kdrl:DsRed) fish having red endothelial nuclei and green pericytes.
