Badge Information
Attendees registering in advance will find their badge and conference materials at the American Heart Association registration desk at the hotel.

Information for International Attendees
This section of our website provides our international audience with important information, including links to consulates and embassies, to help you obtain your visa.  Please begin your visa application process as soon as possible.  Consulates in some countries take several months to process applications.  If you require a personalized visa invitation letter, you must register for this conference first.  A letter will automatically be sent to you afterwards via e-mail.

Media Registrants
Reporters, writers, producers or editors with credentials from a newspaper, magazine, online news service, radio or TV network or station, wire service and syndicate may register to attend Resuscitation Science Symposium 2019.  Media interested in attending should contact the Corporate and Media Communications office at (214) 706-1396 or visit the newsroom website.

Refunds
Registrants who cancel must request a refund of fees paid in writing. Cancellation requests received at Convention Data Services by October 15, 2019, midnight EST will be processed, less a $75 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued until 7 – 15 days post-event. No refunds will be made after October 15, 2019. Purchased meal tickets are non-refundable. Refunds will not be granted for no-shows after the conference. No refunds will be issued onsite.

Payment Details
Fully payment must be received with your registration form. Make checks payable to the American Heart Association or charge your registration to American Express, Discover, Visa or MasterCard. Registrations without complete payment will not be processed. Wire transfers and purchase orders are not accepted.

Written Confirmation
Registrants will receive written confirmation/receipt of registration via e-mail.

Please Note: The American Heart Association shall not be liable for cancellation of the Resuscitation Science Symposium 2019 caused by labor strikes, civil disorders, fires, weather conditions, or other acts of God or for any damages or losses resulting from such cancellation.
 

Membership Discounts

You must be a AHA/ASA Professional Member at the time of registration to qualify for discounted member rates.

Requirements for Discounted Rates

  • Student/Trainee Verification of status is required either by mailing to Convention Data Services in advance or by bringing verification letter onsite. Must still be in training as an undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral/clinical fellow.
     
  • TechnicianVerification of status is required either by mailing to Convention Data Services in advance or by bringing verification letter onsite. Must be full-time laboratory technician, research technician or cardiovascular technologist.

    Before receiving registration materials onsite, member and nonmember Student/Trainee or Technicians must provide proof of status with a current license or certificate, student ID or a letter written on official letterhead and signed by department head, mentor or supervisor. The full nonmember fee will be charged if verification is not provided.

  • Nurse, Paramedic or EMT — Must be Plus, Premium or General Professional Member of the AHA/ASA, and full-time practicing licensed and/or certified nurse, paramedic or EMT. Badge reads "Nurse/Nurse Practitioner" or "EMT/Paramedic" respectively. Note: Non-member nurses, paramedics or EMTs who join at the Early Career level are not eligible for the discounted rates. 
     
  • Early Career — Category is restricted to investigators, clinicians or health professionals who have completed training within the last four years. Also applies to physicians or scientists in their first four years after their first faculty appointment.
    Note: Early Career Nonmembers will be asked a series of qualifying questions during the online registration process. AHA has the right to charge the appropriate nonmember rate if Early Career Nonmember registration is not applicable.
     
  • Premium Emeritus Member — Category is limited to professional members 65 years or older who have requested and received emeritus status from the association before registering.

Getting to and around Philadelphia

Philadelphia International Airport

The Philadelphia International Airport (PHE), is approximately seven miles from Center City. Public transportation options to and from Philadelphia International Airport include:

  • SEPTA’s Airport Regional Rail Line (link opens in new window) – The best travel option when traveling between Center City Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Airport is SEPTA Regional Rail. SEPTA's Airport Line stops at all major Philadelphia International Airport terminals, and is just a 25 minute ride from Center City, with one intermediate stop.
     
  • Taxis (link opens in new window) – Fares from the airport to Center City are fixed at a flat rate of $28.50 for the first person, plus $1.00 for each additional person. If you are not going to Center City, ask the cab driver to estimate the fare before you leave, or check the Philadelphia Taxi Fare Finder for an estimate. Typically, taxis charge a flat rate of $28.50 for travel between Center City and the airport, or pay the meter to go anywhere else in the metro area ($2.70 upon entry plus $2.30 per mile).
     
  • Rental Cars (link opens in new window) – A number of car rental facilities are conveniently located at Philadelphia International Airport. Rental agencies provide frequent free shuttles between all bag claims and their rental car facility. All rental car shuttles pick-up from Zone 9 on the South Commercial Road.
     
  • Directions to the Pennsylvania Convention Center (link opens in new window) – The center spans several blocks in Center City Philadelphia. Its mailing address is 1101 Arch St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19107.
     
  • Public Transit to the Pennsylvania Convention Center (link opens in new window) – Located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, it is easily accessible by car, train, regional rail and bus.
     
  • Pennsylvania Convention Center Parking (link opens in new window) – There are many parking options—both garages and lots—conveniently located within blocks of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
