The mission of the Council on Cardiovascular Radiology and Intervention (CVRI) is to provide leadership to the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association to reduce death and disability from cardiovascular, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular diseases, using diagnostic and functional imaging and imaging-directed interventions.

The purpose of the Council on Clinical Cardiology (CLCD) is to achieve the objectives of the American Heart Association (AHA) in the field of clinical cardiology, to promote excellence in clinical care and to foster the professional development and education of clinical cardiologists. Through council-sponsored symposia, panels and scientific conferences, members can access new developments in the field and interpret and promote clinical cardiology to professional and lay audiences.

The mission of the Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing (CVSN) is to accelerate the discovery, translation and application of knowledge to promote and improve overall cardiovascular health. Our efforts focus on contributing nursing’s biopsychosocial expertise to American Heart Association's (AHA) global agenda to promote ideal cardiovascular health, quality of life, and heart healthy lifestyles and environments.
